Terms of service

These terms apply to TextTheBible, operated by Verseful LLC (“we”, “us”), on every channel where you can message us: Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, SMS, and this website. By using TextTheBible you agree to them.

The service

You send a message and we reply with a Bible verse chosen to match what you wrote. Verses come from a fixed library of published translations; we don’t write commentary or generate scripture. Choosing a verse is automated and won’t always be a perfect fit.

Not professional advice

TextTheBible offers scripture for encouragement. It is not medical, mental health, legal, or pastoral counseling, and it isn’t monitored by a person in real time. If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 (in the US) or your local emergency number.

Joining

To receive verses you reply with your email address. You must be at least 13 years old. You’re responsible for giving us an email address that belongs to you.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

• Send spam, automated messages, or content meant to harass or harm others.
• Try to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Use the service to break any law or the rules of the platform you’re messaging from.

We may limit or end access for anyone who misuses the service.

Messages from us

On Instagram and Messenger we only reply to messages you send us. On Telegram and SMS you can opt in to a daily verse. You can stop at any time by no longer messaging us, or on SMS by replying STOP.

SMS

By subscribing by text you agree to receive recurring automated messages, including a daily Bible verse. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Paid plans

Some features, such as SMS delivery, may require a paid subscription billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.

Scripture and content

Bible translations are the property of their copyright holders and are quoted within their permitted use; see copyright notices. The TextTheBible name, site, and share images are ours. You may share verse images you receive for personal, non-commercial use.

Availability

We provide the service “as is” and may change, pause, or discontinue it, including on a particular channel, at any time. Third-party platforms (Meta, Telegram, carriers) can also affect delivery.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Verseful LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how to delete your data.

Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
